Job Title: Estimator

The general scope of the role: Reporting to the Senior Estimator the Estimator will take responsibility for numerous aspects of the estimating function.

Main duties:
• Management of Pre-Production Only orders from estimate through to invoicing
• Preparation of Enquiry Packages providing supplier quotes
• Complete pricing and provide quotations for Signature Stairs products
• Preparation of Tender Packages to clients and prospective clients for non-standard products
• Maintain the Estimating Library
• Conduct cost analysis following completion of jobs
• Liaise with other departments as required to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
• Work to a high level of confidentiality
• Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and EN1090

Minimum requirements of the Estimator:
• Relevant qualification, i.e. Construction Studies, Engineering
• Understanding of quantity surveying and estimating
• Knowledge of steel materials
• Proficient in MS Office, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
• Proven ability to read and analyse technical drawings
• Excellent organisational skills and proven ability to multi-task and prioritise
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Flexibility to move between projects


Job Title: Site Foreman (UK)

The general scope of the role: Reporting to the General Manager, the Site Foreman is responsible for the site operations and installations for OCE UK. The Site Foreman will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth transition of projects from the workshop to site installation. This role initially extends to the Greater London Area however, it may, over time, incorporate additional locations.

Main duties:

  • Carry out and oversee site installation operations of OCE UK
  • Management of OCE UK site installation team
  • Site surveying as required
  • Liaise with Drawing Department on job specifications and technicalities
  • Schedule & supervise works and site installations within the UK
  • Manage timelines of projects to ensure tasks are completed in line with estimated times
  • Quality control of all aspects of installation
  • Loading / unloading deliveries in the depot and on site, as required
  • Delivery and collection of equipment, tools, etc.
  • Ensure all health & safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Complete employee timesheets in full, as required, for handover to Head Office
  • Remain available to travel to Head Office as required and deemed necessary by OCE
  • Partake in all relevant training as deemed appropriate by the Human Resources Department
  • Ensure all EN1090, EN287 and ISO9001:2015 standards and requirements are met
  • Further the Lean Process, partake in Lean initiatives and ensure Lean principles are followed

Minimum requirements of the Site Foreman:

  • Five years’ experience in a site installation capacity
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • In-depth knowledge of, and experience in, site fitting, metal fabrication and welding
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate colleagues
  • Experience in overseeing and leading site installation projects to a very high standard
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritise projects
  • Computer literate and competent in the use of PCs, tablets, software and Microsoft applications

Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

General scope of role:

The Maintenance Electrician is part of a team who look after the maintenance of OCE assets. Maintenance can occur on a routine preventative basis or can be required on an unscheduled basis. The Maintenance Electricians will work closely with each other, and will report to the Facilities Manager to ensure the smooth running of the workshop. This role is not restricted to electrical works and will require flexibility to carry out maintenance works across all OCE facilities. The Maintenance Electrician must ensure all OCE policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.  

Main duties:

  • Actively follow up on scheduled and unscheduled repairs to ensure smooth running of workshop floor,
  • Scheduled repairs are completed as per Asset Management System (AMS),
  • Unscheduled repairs are to be completed as per Maintenance Board,
  • Update AMS following any completed works,
  • Work with the Stores to ensure the AMS is updated,
  • Ensure all projects are carried out in line with OCE requirements,
  • Routine maintenance checks on forklifts and document same,
  • Put in place and review Timers on machines, e.g. Bandsaw, Welders, etc.,
  • Complete daily Fire Walks at the start of shift and record same in the Fire Walk Log,
  • Manage and maintain stocks of gas
  • Act as Stores Assistant on nightshift (when required) ensuring colleagues receive required consumables, tools, PPE and all incoming and outgoing goods are accounted for,
  • Complete daily Tool Board audits at each work bay,
  • Attend meetings as required,
  • Further the Lean Process, partake in Lean initiatives and ensure Lean principles are followed,
  • Undertake mechanical and other maintenance tasks,
  • General ‘ad hoc’ duties as required and directed by production and facilities management.

 Minimum requirements of Maintenance Electrician:

  • Maintenance, electrical or related work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Flexibility to move between projects
