A structured welding training programme is followed and upon completion the trainee can expect to be competent in the following areas:

  • Fillet welds
  • Butt welds

  • EN1090 standard

The OCE MIG Welder Training Programme is designed to train and upskill the trainee in the most used practices at O’Carroll Engineering (OCE). Whilst this training will be recognised within OCE, and the skill set may be transferrable it is not a formal qualification, and the trainee will not receive any formal certification at the end of the programme.

Although the completion of the Welder Training Programme does not guarantee a position as a welder, should business requirements allow, participants will be offered the opportunity to apply for a position as a welder.

  • Team player
  • Interest in welding as a career

The Trainee Welder role requires a minimum of 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A reasonable level of overtime may be required at morning, evening or weekend time to ensure the fulfilment of the requirements of this role.
